Wholesale Teak Furniture: MOQ, Pricing, and Lead Times

When buyers contact us about wholesale teak furniture, the first questions are usually simple:

  • What is the minimum order?

  • How much does it cost?

  • How long does production take?

  • Can the design be customized?

At Bukit Interiors, we manufacture teak furniture in Indonesia for B2B buyers. This includes outdoor furniture, dining furniture, lounge sets, bedroom furniture, cabinets, and custom hospitality pieces. Below is a simple breakdown of how MOQ, pricing, and lead times usually work.

What is the MOQ for wholesale teak furniture?

For most wholesale teak furniture orders, our typical minimum order quantity is a 20-foot container. This does not always mean the container has to be filled with one product. In many cases, our buyers mix different furniture items in the same container. For example, a retailer may combine outdoor lounge chairs, dining tables, benches, coffee tables, and teak swing seats in one shipment.

This approach is often better for buyers because it gives them more variety without needing to order a large quantity of only one item. A 20-foot container MOQ makes sense because we are manufacturing, packing, checking, and preparing the order for export. Single-item orders or very small orders are not practical for manufacturers because the export cost, documentation, and handling are too high compared to the order value.

For larger buyers, 40-foot containers can also be arranged.

How is wholesale teak furniture priced?

Pricing depends on the details of the product. A simple teak bench will not be priced the same as a large outdoor sofa set with cushions, Sunbrella fabric, brass hardware, and custom dimensions. The more details involved, the more accurate the quote needs to be.

The main things that affect pricing are:

  • Material grade

  • Product size

  • Quantity

  • Construction details

  • Finish

  • Cushion and fabric requirements

  • Hardware

  • Packing requirements

  • Export documentation and loading

For teak, material grade matters. A-grade teak will cost more than lower-grade teak because the color, grain, and consistency are better. For some outdoor products, buyers may choose a more cost-effective teak grade depending on the market and use case (learn more about teak grades here). Cushions also affect price. If the product needs outdoor cushions, quick-dry foam, fire-resistant foam, Dacron wrap, or Sunbrella fabric, those details need to be included in the quote from the beginning.

Because of this, we usually ask buyers for product references, dimensions, quantities, and material preferences before giving final pricing.

Why we need quantity before giving accurate prices

Quantity changes the cost. If a buyer asks for the price of one teak bed frame, one chair, or one table, the price will not tell the full story. Manufacturing works better when there is a repeatable order quantity. The setup, material preparation, production planning, sanding, finishing, quality control, packing, and container loading all become more efficient when the order is at wholesale scale.

That is why we usually ask:

  • How many pieces are you looking to order?

  • Are you trying to fill a 20-foot container?

  • Do you want to mix this item with other furniture?

  • Is this for retail, hospitality, or a residential project?

  • Do you need cushions, fabric, or other materials included?

Once we understand the order size, we can price the project more clearly.

What is the normal lead time?

For most wholesale teak furniture orders, production usually takes around 2 to 4 months. The exact lead time depends on the order size and level of customization. A simple repeat order may move faster. A custom outdoor sofa collection with cushions, special dimensions, and finish sampling may take longer.

For many custom orders, we estimate around 3 to 4 months from confirmation to shipment. Some simpler products may be closer to 2 to 3 months, but it is always better to plan with enough time.

Can teak furniture be customized?

Yes. Customization is one of the main reasons buyers work with us. We can adjust dimensions, wood finish, cushion fabric, joinery details, and overall design. Buyers can send drawings, reference images, product links, or existing designs they want to restock.

Customization can include:

  • Changing the size of a table, chair, or sofa

  • Adjusting seat depth or back height

  • Changing the finish color

  • Adding or removing arms

  • Changing cushion thickness

  • Using outdoor performance fabric

  • Modifying joinery or construction

  • Creating a new collection based on reference images

For custom products, the more information we receive at the start, the smoother the process will be. Clear dimensions, product photos, quantity estimates, and material preferences help us quote and manufacture more accurately.

What payment terms are typical?

For custom wholesale orders, payment is usually split into two parts. A common structure is:

  1. 50% deposit to start production

  2. 50% balance before container loading

The deposit allows materials to be purchased and production to begin. The remaining balance is paid before the finished goods are loaded and shipped.

What information should buyers prepare before asking for a quote?

To give a useful quote, we usually need a few basic details. The most helpful information includes:

  • Product category

  • Reference photos or drawings

  • Quantity for each item

  • Dimensions

  • Preferred teak grade or finish

  • Cushion and fabric requirements

  • Shipping destination

  • Target timeline

A buyer does not need to have everything perfect before contacting us. But even rough information helps. For example, saying “4 lounge chairs, 8 sofas, 9 coffee tables” with reference images is much more useful.

How Shipping Works: FOB Indonesia

Most of our wholesale teak furniture orders are handled on FOB terms. FOB means the furniture price includes production, export packing, quality control, documentation, and loading the container at the port in Indonesia. From there, the buyer or their freight forwarder handles the ocean freight, import duties, customs clearance, and delivery after the container leaves Indonesia.

This is common for wholesale furniture exports because it gives buyers more control over the freight side. Many retailers, designers, and importers already have a freight forwarder they work with, so FOB keeps the process clear.

For most orders, we can help coordinate the export side from Indonesia, including:

  • Container loading

  • Export packing

  • Quality checks before loading

  • Export documents

  • Communication with the freight forwarder

  • Port coordination in Indonesia

If a buyer does not already have a freight forwarder, we can usually help connect them with one or coordinate with a forwarder they choose.

Final thoughts

Wholesale teak furniture works best when the order is planned around container-level production. For most B2B buyers, the typical MOQ is a 20-foot container, which can often be mixed with different furniture items. Pricing depends on the design, material, quantity, finish, cushions, and packing requirements. Lead times are usually around 2 to 4 months, depending on the order.

At Bukit Interiors, we manufacture teak furniture in Indonesia for retailers, designers, hospitality projects, and other B2B buyers. We can produce standard furniture, develop custom designs, and help coordinate the order through production, quality control, packing, and export.

For the most accurate quote, it is best to send the product references, dimensions, quantities, and destination. From there, we can let you know what is feasible, what the MOQ would look like, and how long production would take.
